About Your Nutritionist

Emma Cutfield, RHN, BA

EmPowered!

As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, my goal is to empower you towards health on all levels: body, mind and spirit. The foods I recommend emphasize whole, live, fresh and natural properties. My lifestyle recommendations are meant to be inspiring, not depriving or demanding. My belief is that our time on this earth is ours to create, so why not live life as fully, unlimited and dare I say-hearty-as is uniquely possible for each of us?!

My connection to nutrition comes from witnessing the link between how I fuel my body, and what kind of results I feel in return. I was incredibly inspired after receiving my own naturopathic and nutritional support, and have been able to take my health into my own hands and understand what food choices allow me to thrive. I personally struggled with asthma, chronic bronchitis, hypoglycemia and pervasive allergies until understanding this connection. I believe nutrition is the key to unlocking the door into a more vibrant and balanced way of being.

I experienced the loss of my Dad to a heart attack while in the middle of my nutrition studies. This was a defining life event to experience on it’s own, but let alone to experience while learning about health and well being. Heart health has now become a topic of significance for me as I work to understand the integral importance of the combination of factors that define health: heredity, nutrition, fitness and the underestimated importance of our psychospiritual well being.

My lifestyle now reflects a journey towards a hearty heart by inspiring to be nourished, vigorous, exuberant, genuine and well. I am an avid runner, practice yoga and pilates, and aim to raise my heart rate at least once every day. I love to ground myself in the outdoors as much as possible, and maintain hobbies in every season, from climbing to snowboarding. I love to travel and explore both abroad and in my own backyard. I find it is in new experiences that we are reminded to keep centered in the present moment. My goal is to eat at least one thing green everyday, and I find nothing more rewarding than sourcing quality ingredients to make meals for those I love!

As a part of my own empowerment towards a healthy heart, I decided to start this blog as a way of communicating my passion, knowledge and understandings with others. It is my intention to use this blog as a jumping off point for you, those you love, those you know, or those you will one day meet, to understand the importance of a healthy heart in living a long, full and vigorous life. Please share it, think and talk about what you read here, and most of all take action when you feel inspired.

Yours in health,

Emma-Jane
